ERIC SHUSTER has dedicated his writing career to building bridges of understanding between Christians. His first book Catholic Roots, Mormon Harvest chronicles the faith journey of he and his wife including the respectful comparison of dozens of doctrines between Catholicism and Mormonism. Shuster’s second book, The Biblical Roots of Mormonism (co-authored with Charles Sale) provides a common scriptural platform for Christians to better understand Mormon doctrine using over 1,000 scriptural references from the Bible. Shuster’s latest work, Where are the Christians: The Unrealized Potential of a Divided Religion explores the “who, what, where and how” of Christianity with an eye towards increased unification and respect among all Christians regardless of denominational affiliation. With his professional research background, directorship at the Foundation for Christian Studies, and his unique life experiences, Shuster is able to delve into complex spiritual subject matter and make it understandable and enjoyable to the everyday reader.

A Letter to Readers
May 13, 2013

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and your interest in one or more of my books. I’d like to give a special thanks to those around the world who have contacted me by postal mail, email, and other means to share with me their experiences in reading. Your testimonies are an inspiration to me and my family and strengthen us in Christ. I invite you to visit my website often for updates, like my fan page on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, and check out my channel on YouTube. We are trying to have something for everyone and welcome your suggestions and comments.

I have dedicated my writing career to helping build bridges of understanding between Christians—especially between Latter-day Saints and other denominations of Christianity. Although the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Christian denomination I belong to, I am first and foremost a disciple of Jesus Christ and pledge my faith and devotion to Him and the Heavenly Father we share. My journey into writing thus far has included three works that build upon one another in subtle ways. My first book, Catholic Roots, Mormon Harvest, gives readers a glimpse into my background and the journey that led me to becoming a Latter-day Saint including the respectful comparison of 40 doctrines between Catholicism and Mormonism. My second book, The Biblical Roots of Mormonism, explains all of the core doctrines of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints using the common scriptural platform of all Christendom—the Bible. My latest book, Where are the Christians: the Unrealized Potential of a Divided Religion takes readers on a journey through Christianity from its roots to the present day, critically examining the key dynamics of one of the world’s most celebrated religion and how it (and the reader) can better realize its true spiritual potential.

The journey from thinking about writing, to writing, to becoming a writer has been wonderful and revealing to me in a multitude of ways. Sometimes I feel as if the Lord puts a pipe in my head and I simply type away while He provides the inspiration and ideas. The Holy Ghost burns hot within my soul when the Lord prompts me to write. It is a wonderful feeling and experience and I am grateful for it and excited to share it with you. It is my prayer that the books I write will inspire people everywhere to seek a closer relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ, to learn about the everlasting gospel, and open up a dialogue with people of all faiths around the globe in search of spiritual truth and understanding.

I look forward to hearing from you and pray the Lord will bless you in your ongoing journey with love in the Savior and joy in the gospel.

Sincerely and always,
